Mother's Day

American Saturday Night

Saturday night, we all got together for a good ol’ cookout at Aunt Trudy’s house to celebrate the moms and my cousin Melanie’s birthday. The food was fantastic and the company was great.

Yard Work = Hard Work

Saturday morning, the family all gathered at Granny’s house to surprise her for Mother’s Day by working in her yard. She was so surprised when she came to the door to see us all standing there ready to get started. We were able to get a lot accomplished in only a few hours and the best part was spending time with everyone, talking and laughing.

Fun Friday

Thursday night after work, Jackson and I packed up and made the drive to High Point for the weekend. We had a great time visiting with all of the family and friends that we were fortunate enough to see while we were there. From the moment we “landed” in the driveway of my parents’ house, we went full throttle until we headed home on Sunday, blissfully exhausted.

High Point has one of the most amazing farmers markets and I try to make a point of visiting when I am in town. Friday morning, Mom, Jackson, and I woke up way too early and met my sister, Laura, out there for breakfast and a little shopping. It was a beautiful morning and we bought lots of yummy veggies and some pretty plants for Granny’s yard (more on that later).

Sweet Jackson

After the farmers market, we stopped by Bank of America so that Laura could show off her nephew to her coworkers. They were all so sweet and loved meeting Jackson in person (they are regular readers of the blog – shout out!). Then, we met my Dad and had lunch at Prissy Polly’s. It is imperative that you have BBQ when in High Point… YUM! From there, we went to Granny’s house and she piled in the car to go with us for the rest of the afternoon.

The day continued at the same breakneck speed with which it started. We did some shopping (love, love, love Friendly Center), visited my Aunt Onie at work, stopped by Wally World and the grocery store… you name it and we did it. Jackson was a trooper.

Whew! What a day!
