Playhouse

Jackson has a new playhouse... our barstools! He loves to get inside of them and stand up. It keeps him entertained for quite a while. Tonight, he was in between a change of clothes (REALLY dirty diaper) when he decided to sneak into his "playhouse." I couldn't resist...

The Car Ride

Yesterday afternoon, all three of us piled into Jason’s truck and headed south to drop Jackson off for his very first sleepover (more on that later… thanks Jamie!!!). I was sitting in the very back with my legs folded up around me, singing along with the radio and acting silly (something I often do while trying to entertain little man). Jason was trying to pay attention to the road, but I’m sure that Jackson and I were making it very difficult with our antics. Jackson was laughing and making his new favorite noise, just being his normal, happy little self.

It was one of those moments where everything seemed just right.

In the middle of 5 o’clock traffic, running late, squished into a little 2 door pick-up truck, I realized that this is our life…and I could not be happier.

Jackson's First Tooth

It’s been a long time coming.

After buckets of baby drool, many sleepless nights, and Jackson’s relentless gnawing on anything he could fit into his mouth, we finally have a tooth. It is his first tooth, located bottom-middle-right. It has just peeked through the gum and you can feel the sharp little top of it. I know that it is the first of many and that not all will be celebrated with a cherished blog post, but this one little tooth is a big moment in out little man’s life.

Jackson's Aunt Tami is currently in town visiting us from Illinois. We are so glad to have her here for almost an entire week. She and Jackson are spending a lot of quality time together. Here are some pictures from dinner on Wednesday night when we went to Coppers where Jason was performing. (If you look close, you might be able to see her baby bump!)

Here are some pictures from yesterday. Jackson looked so cute in his fireman overalls that we just had to take some pictures.

Lately, Jackson has had this fascination with the kitchen. I tried to keep him in the living room for a while, but eventually I gave up. Maybe the newness will wear off. Yesterday, I gave him a small frying pan and a spoon to play with, but he didn't want to play WITH the pan, he wanted to play IN the pan. He kept trying to sit in it... it was hilarious.
