Christmas Day

I fully intended on having all of these pictures up days ago. Sometimes things don’t work out quite the way you plan. Nevertheless, here are pictures from Jackson’s first Christmas. It was a wonderful day.

Wake up! It's Christmas!

'Twas the night before Christmas...

Jackson is tucked away, snug in his bed. We had a great Christmas Eve here in High Point, full of family, delicious food, and reminiscing. Here are some pictures from our night.

4 Months

Jackson is 4 months old! He is so much fun right now and his personality is really starting to show. He has been exerting his independence lately, always wanting to sit up, even when he is in his car seat. Jackson has started making all kinds of sounds when he “talks” and he tells us frequently how he feels about things… especially when he’s hungry. He loves to smile and laugh… at us as opposed to with us, I’m afraid. I’m sure that what he thinks is funny now will become increasingly embarrassing as he gets older, so we are enjoying these days while we are still pretty cool in his book.

Yesterday, was Jackson’s 4 month check-up. He weighed…(wait for it)… 16 lbs., 14 oz.!!!! He was also 27 ½ inches long. His height measures in the 95th percentile and his weight is in the 90th percentile, so he is in perfect proportion, he’s just BIG! He was such a big boy while we were there. He didn’t even cry when the nurse gave him 2 shots. Dr. McCabe said that developmentally and physically, he was perfect. We think so... he is our “best present ever.”

While we were visiting the doctor, we talked to her about incorporating some food into Jackson’s diet and she thought that he was ready. So, last night we tried sweet potatoes! I think that when it was all over with, the little man was wearing more than he actually ate, but it wasn’t a particularly bad experience for him. He seemed pretty open to ingesting whatever I put in his mouth, so we will try again today and see how it goes!

You better watch out...

Jackson and Blakely

Sunday night, we went over to the Casselman’s for a Christmas party. We had a great time and ate some excellent BBQ. There were so many babies there! Brian and Misty’s son, Blakely, was born about two weeks before Jackson. They were very interested in each other and started up a pretty good conversation. They were so funny talking to each other.

My First Christmas

Last night, after we got home from the Casselman’s Christmas party, Jackson was in such a good mood. He looked adorable in his overalls and “My First Christmas” outfit. We couldn’t let the opportunity pass us by.

Two little penguins…

The Christmas season always seems to pass so quickly. Only 11 days until Christmas!!! We are having so much fun this year with Jackson. The house is decorated, Christmas movies have been on repeat, and we are ready for Jackson’s first visit from Santa. Karen’s mom came to visit last week and they spent all night Friday and most of Saturday morning making candy. (SO much fun!)

This past week, Jason was in the Christmas show at church. He looked very handsome in his tuxedo and the show was wonderful. On Friday night, Jackson decided that he wanted to dress up like Daddy…
